(Our Own Correspondent.) HOKITIKA, August 17. A couple of parties of unemployed are to be next, week put on to prospect about 500 acres of an area, south of Rimu Flat, just below the area now being worked by Ihe dredge. There is to be a ramp established and Mr S. Baird is to supervise. A line on which shafts are ;o be sunk has been laid down by Supervisor Cooper, and the idea is that what 'was known as the Brighton lead may be rediscovered. Sumner presiding over a good attendance. Mr F. Grenfell was elected captain, and Mr S. Fleming Secretary. A Greymouth team is to be invited to play a match here next Wednesday. A team from the local High School who have visited Christchurch this week, meeting representatives of West Christchurch D.IL School at football and debating, will return tomorrow. Last evening, the local Badminton Club 'defeated St. John's Club. Greymouth. in a match here by 8 sets to 4.
