Extraordinary enthusiasm marked the opening of the season of prome.i ade concerts at the Queen’s Hall, which Sir Henry Wood, for the 40th year,, is conducting. Sine© Sir Henry first took over the coudue'torship at the age of 25, he has enormously stimulated popular interest in classical and modern music. Few seats are available at these concerts, an* Ihe majority of the audience are quite unable to promenade., so great is the demand for standing room. ANOIENT MONUMENT. RUGBY. August 13.
