ELLSWORTH EXPEDITION. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND. August 13. The Ellsworth * expedition ship Wyatt Earp, arrived this morning, when the Expedition’s monoplane was loaded on to the vessel The machine with its wings and tail removed wa< lifted from the wharf with the ship’s derrick and slings, and was carefully lowered into the forward hold where it fits very neatly. The monoplane will be removed in Dunedin and overhauled. The Wyatt Earp will leave for Dunedin to-morrow and a call will be made at Wellington where Sir HuberWilkins will join the vessel.

HOARDERS AT AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, August 14. An old man tottered into an Auckland city’ bank the other day and surprised the teller by producing £lOOl in trading bank notes, from a faded old bag. He said that he wanted to exchange them for Reserve Bank notes. Without more ado, the exchange was effected, and he went away happily to hoard his supply’ of brai d new paper money. Another case o* hoarding was revealed when a woman entered the bank with £7OO worth of old notes to be exchanged. She too was given the equivalent in clean crackling paper, of the new issue, and went away to hide it in some secret place.
