WOMAN’S FALL OFF FIRE ESCAPE. DUNEDIN. August 14. Serious injuries were sustained about 11.30 last evening by a married woman. Pearl Creig, when, she fell from a fire escape on the second floor of the Criterion Hotel. The police have not yet, in view of her condition, clarified how the accident occurred, but it is understood she was endeavouring to leave the hotel in which she had booked a room earlier the same day, and fell 30 feet, fracturing a leg. sustaining scalp wounds and internal injuries. Mrs Creig, who lives at Cumberland Street, is about 23 years of age. FATAL ELECTRICAL BURNS. AUCKLAND, August 14. The death has occurred in Auckland Hospital of Frederick Free th, aged 46. of Glen Eden, who had been in a serious condition his admission on May 26, with severe burns and shock, received when the guy wire of a radio-mast he was erecTing came in contact with a high tension electric power line carrying 11000 volts.
