“SURE THING” MISSED
BUT LIFE SAVED. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) SYDNEY, August 14. A taxicab conveying five women to Gosford country races to-day crashed through an embankment and fell 20 feet, landing upside down. The hood had to be cut away to release the occupants and the driver. Only two of the women suffered minor injuries. One of the uninjured passengers had £lOO to invest on a horse, which won before she was able to reach the course in another car which she hastily requisitioned.
