METROPOLITAN TROTS

TO-DAY’S PROGRAMME Large Fields Engaged (From the ‘ ‘ Del ver ’’) The Metropolitan ’Trotting Club’s "winter meeting will be advanced a further stage al Addington to-day. The big race of the day, the King George Handicap, promises to provide another thriller as it is composed of the same field (with the inclusion of Pegaway) that contested the August Handicap on the opening day. On his first day’s performance, Indianapolis does not appeal over a two-mile journey and it is quite on the cards that he may be reserved for the Speedway Handicap, of 1 miles, the last event on the card. In this race, Harold Logan has to concede 6 secs (72 yards) but on his great effort of last Saturday, he must have an excellent chance of gaining a popular victory. 11.20. IMPROVERS’ HANDICAP, H miles, ;:,32 class.— King’s Voyage, Nelson Ata, New Metford, Real’ Belle. Wah '24, Raelaim 36, Don Chenault, Gay Paree. Great Burton 48, Lough Guy I'he Improvers’ Handicap, of 1-1 [miles, is made up of practically the .same field that competed in the Introductory Handicap. Raelaim has gone back 12 yards. Gay -Paree has also been penalised 1 sec. Don Chenault is still on the same mark, thereby meeting the two mentioned above on 12 yards better terms. King’s Voyage trotted a sound race on Saturday and is in the same handicap. Popular choice may be Don Chenault Raelaim King’s Voyage 12.5. DASH HANDICAP, 1 mile, 2.13 • lass.—Chenwood, Erin’s Fortune, Meteor, Nelson De Oro, Prairie King, Taxpayer, scr., Arabond, Eureka Roy, Cay Gordon, George Rey, Logan's Pride, Master Roy, Somerby, Wild Guy 12, Probationer, Reporter 24. The Dash Handicap, run over a mile has a large acceptance of sixteen, but there is likely to be several scratchings in .favour of the Lincoln Handicap of 1;{ miles later in the day. Students of form will probably give their support to Chenwood Prairie King Wild Guy 12.50. KING GEORGE HANDICAP, 2 miles, 4.2 s class. — Pegaway, Vesuvius scr., Gold Tinge, Indianapolis, Kingcraft, Silver de Oro 12, Blue Mountain 24, Mountain Dell, Rollo 36, Koi I ’Or GO. The King George Handicap should provide another exciting contest with the pace on from barrier rise. Blue Mountain, penalised 12 yards, only needs Io reproduce Saturday’s form to make it lough again for the others. Indianapolis stopped badly in the final stages in the August Handicap. Gold Tinge was not sighted in the mile event on Saturday, but may do bettor

here. Pegaway, off the front with Vesuvius, will make the pace pretty hot and the former will stay. Kingcraft and Silver de Oro were in the picture at Hie turn in Saturday’s race but both stopped badly. Mountain Dell and Rollo are fresh horses, giving away 3 secs. Roi L’Or, 60 yards behind, has only to catch his field early to be very dangerous and should go up a place to-day. Punters may declare for Pegaway Roi I’Or. Vesuvius. 1.35. BELGIUM HANDICAP, 2 miles, 4.40 class.—Gunmetal, Margaret Chenault, Queen Author scr., Golden Direct 12, Willow Wave, Worthy King 24, Erin’s Princess, Jolly Wave, Rey Spec 36. Harold Denver 48. The Belgium Handicap has a useful field of ten. Betty Wrack and Elvo were nominated for this event, but both are ineligible. Saturday’s form points to Willow Wave Queen Author Rey Spec. 2.15. LINCOLN HANDICAP, 1] miles, 2.47 class. —Chenwood, Giro, Linella, Nelson de Oro, Peter Locanda, Prairie King, Purser, Tempest scr., Belinda, Colonial Boy, Eureka Boy, Harvest Child, Wild Guy 12, Ayrmont Chimes, Somerby 24. The Lincoln Handicap of 1| miles, contains most of the horses competing in the Dash Handicap earlier in the day. Good support may be. accorded Linella Eureka Boy Ayrmont Chimes 3.0. AVON HANDICAP, 14 miles, 3.27 class. —Explosion, Fifa, Lough Guy scr., Garner, Louis Bingen, Mountain Mist 12, First Wrack 24, Biddy Parish, Writer 36, Nicoya 48, Stanley T. 60, Trampfast, Worthy Queen, AVraclcier 72.

The Avon Handicap, for unhoppled trotters has fifteen acceptors and most interest will centre in Worthy Queen, Trampfast and Wrackler off the same mark, 72 yards. The former went a great race on Saturday and as the class in this event is tighter by 5 secs, she will have a much better opportunity to catch the field sooner. Popular selectioA will probably be Mountain Mist Nicoya Worthy Queen 3.45. CANTERBURY HANDICAP, 2 miles 4.35 class.—Lord Leslie, Nimbus, Sure scr., Mountain Ore 12, Arabond, Gay Gordon, John Jinks, Tempest 24, Cloudy Range. Royal Drusus 36, Gunfire. Wrecker 48. The Canterbury- Handicap promises to be a good betting race with preference on the first day’s running for Lord Leslie Sure Tempest 4.30. Speedway Handicap, lj miles, 2.44 class. —Arethusa, Avernus, Blue Mountain, Ravdus. Sir Guy scr., Gold Country, Mountain Dell,' Rollo, Silver de Oro 12, Glenrossie, Indianapolis, Roddv 24, Tmpromtpu, Lindbergh 36, Red Shadow 60. Harold Logan 72. The Speedway Handicap will create

much enthusiasm and should Indianapolis start he will be one of the favourites. The extra quarter of a mile will be all in favour of Harold Logan, and if he gets up to his field as quickly as on Saturday he will probably win. A large betting pool will result with good support for Indianapolis . Roddy Harold Logan
