HOCKEY
YESTERDAY’S GAMES. Three hockey fixtures were decided at Victoria Park under perfect weather conditions yesterday. In a hard gaum St. Cohimba, who were three to nil down at half time, defeated Cobdt n by 5 goals to 4. Scorers for St. Co luniba were Hopkins, Butler, Preston (2) and O’Connor, and for Cobden Truman (2) and Eatwel] (2) scored. Pacific accounted for Technical by 2 goals to nil, in a later game, the Technical team failing to combine all well. Reid and Sequin scored for the winners.
For the Milligan rose, bowl Hokitika ladies defeated Mawhera by two, to nil. The game was a fast one, and some good combination was seen. The score gives a fair indication of the merits of the teams, Mawhera’s forwards not retaining their places very well, and the Hokitika backs playing very .solidly.
