MOTORIST CONVICTED. WELLINGTON, July 31. At the Supreme Court to-day, Cyril Farquhar Chapman, a clerk, aged 33, on the charge of negligently driving a motor car on Jervois Quay on May 12, and thereby causing (bodily injuries to two seamen, Robert E. Burns and. Samuel Knight, was found guilty, with a strong recommendation to mercy. A rider was added by the jury that they considered Jervois Quay was insufficiently lighted, and that the attention of Hie proper authorities should bo drawn to the matter. Chapman was remanded until Thursday for sentence.
