Mr Hargest- asked whether, in view of the. intention of the British Government to provide a subsidy of two million sterling a year, the New Zealand Government was taking any action regarding competition to British ships in the Pacific.

Mr Forbes replied that the question as still the subject of consultation between the British. Australian and New Zealand Governments. He hoped to be able to make a statement at no distant date.
