THE WEATHER
(Per prtms A Rsoci'Hlon ' WELLINGTON, May 9. The weather report and forecast are as follows:—General situation: An intense anti-cyclone extends across Tasman Sea on to southern New Zealand, while a depression is still centred near the Chathams. A cyclone is located off the Queensland coast. Forecast: Moderate to strong southerly winds, still of gale force, between Akaroa and East Cape,- and in the Cook Strait area, but moderating slowly. Sens in New Zealand waters, heavy south of East Cape; moderate on the West Coast, of the South Island; else-1 where rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong south-east to east winds; seas moderate, but rising in the northern portion. Weather fine in the western districts; elsewhere, still changeable and squally, with further; showers along the east coast, especially between Cook Strait and East Cape. Cold temperatures.
