The family r«tired about 9 o’clock, leaving as they thought, everything safe, and only a few embers in the fireplace, and ju.~t before ten o’clock Mr Hampson was awakened by the smoke in hi s bed 1( 0111, mid found .the whole of the back part of the house in flames He at • nee went to the rescue of the child ren, who well- asleep in three separate rooni>. where the fire was.
