JAPAN ATTACKED

Sir Roger Keyes, in a speech, condemned the London Navay Treaty of J 931. lie declared that Japan had attended the Naval Conferences “with her tongue in her cheek.’’ He added: “I tell you, as a naval man. that Japan is untouchable! We must have a base at Singapore to protect Australia and New Zealand. and I thank God we shall have it in two years’ time. The battle of the naw must be fought out on the Downing Street front, against the Treasury and against the Government. The Air Force, the Army and the Navy must be brought up to a proper defensive standard.
