CYCLING

EVENING TRACK RACES. Good racing was witnessed at the evening cycle meeting held at Victoria Park last evening, under the auspices of the Greymouth-United Cycling .Club, although the track was not conducive to fast times. The fields were good, and in all cases the finishes were close. C. Watson won the half-mile event in a manner that indicates he will have further successes this season. Always handy in the front bunch, he came away at the top of the straight, and in a stiff sprint was not troubled. A much improved rider in J. Daniels won the two* miles, from another young rider, J. Larking, after a gruelling race. The fields in the boys’ races were stronger than for some seasons, and the boys provided interesting races. R. Harvey and D.
