YESTERDAY’S CASES. Air. W. Meldriinh S.M., dealt with the following cases at the weekly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Greymont h, yesterday. AFTER HOURS. For a similar offence on April 11th, John Sweeney was similarly dealt with. Expenses of the informa-nt amounted to 13/-. ALLEGED FRAUD. Appearing on remand, George Rossi jChampion, 31, was charged that onl' | April 1, at Greymouth, with intent to defraud, he obtained from Lawn and Fleming £l/17/6 in cash, and collars ■ valued at 2/6, by means of a valueless cheque for £2/0/6. | On the application of Plain Clothes Constable Hay, accused, was further reLnanded until this morning. CROSSED LINE WHEN NOT CLEAR | William Frederick Harley was chargvd that at Greymoulh on May 22 being the driver of a, motor car proceeding' along tin l Brunner Road in the Mawhera Road crossing did attempt to cross tin* railway line when the same was not cle::.r.
