TO-NIGHT AND TO-MORROW. “MAN OF MAYFAIR.” The star in the above romantic musical comedy is Jack Buchanan, who did splendidly opposite Jeannette MacDonald in “Monte Carlo.’ * lie is the most popular London musical comedy a.rtist. His singing charms, liis dancing enthuses,’ and his lovemaking captivates. Joan Barry is equally well-known, and is recognised as the most beautiful stage and screen player in England. As the little dancer-country-maid sweetheart of Buchanan in “Man of Mayfair,” she is adorable. Her flare for comedy is notable. Nora Swinburne is the feminine menace in “Alan of Mayfair/’ and a, neglected wife as well. Iler handling of an unsympathetic role is responsible for much of the comedy, and pathos. Warwick Ward is a prominent player who recently appeared in the Paramount British production, “Stamboul.” There is also Miss Slimline Terriss, one of London’s bestknown character actresses, who toured Australia a few years ago with her husband, Seymour Hicks. She’s the sweet old mother o f Miss Barry in “Man of Mayfair.” TOWN HALL—TO-MORROW NIGHT. HAROLD PRESCOTT RECITAL. So fa.r as music-lovers in Greymouth and district are concerned, all roads i will load to the Town Hall to-morrow ! evening, and a full house is assured for the musical and elocutionary recital to he presented by Air Harold Prescot t , the well-known tenor, and his pupils. Artists contributing to the first portion of the programme will include Afiss Zita Alunson (Christchurch), pianiste; Aliss Gladys Iligson, contralto; Aliss Alarvel Warnes, soprano; Aliss Joyce Ilignett, contralto; Aliss Alavis Bond, elocutionist; and Air : Harold Booty, basso.
