The weather report and forecast arc as iollow.s: General situation: Pressure is still low to the eastward, while a. slight depression is moving across the Tasman Sea. An auti-cyelunc covers the whole of Australia. Forecast: Moderate southerly winds north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; else where variable, but southerlies are shortly becoming general, and -again freshening. Seas (N.Z. waters): Still a heavy swell between Kaikoura and East Cape, but decreasing; rough north of Farewell Spit; elsewhere, moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate variable winds at first, but later southerlies prevailing and freshening. Weather: Cloudy to overcast with scattered showers in most districts, and cold temperatures.
