Local Games No senior fixtures were played <<ver the week-end. but a full programme "f lower grade fixtures was carried out. under good overhead conditions and on fast grounds, and close scores were 1 the order. Tin results of the various game> were as fol'ows: — GREY II (4) v. DOBSON II (1). These two teams met at Dobson on Saturday before a fair attendance <>i spectators. Tin* game was very even in the first spell, only one goal being scored. Eatwell giving Greymouth the half-time lead. The second spell was also even an I interesting. Dobson evened the score when Ken- goaled from a melee in the Greymouth goal mouth. Soon after De Freatus again gave Greymouth 'he lead, and then furthei increased it. Before the final whistle Katwc'l scored the last goal for Greymouth, the game ending, Grey mouth 4, Dob-on I. .For Greymouth Burn. De Freatus and Marley shone on*. while Dobson’s best were W. Hamilton, D. Hamilton and R King. Mr R. Nelson ablv control led the game. TAYLORVILLE II (2) v. RUNANGA II (0). Flaying at Tay mrvilß. on Saturday the home team defeate I Runanga by two goals to nil after a fair exhibition of the code, which kept the spectators interested throughout. For the winners the only goal scored was by Cowan, Hewison giving them the other by putting through his own goal. TECH. B 111 (1) v. GREY 111 (0). Very even play throughout characterised thy Technical B-Greynwuth third grade game, played at the Schoo! ground on Saturday, and a draw would have been :» fair indication of the merits of the teams. It was only in th*' last minute of the game that Technical gained tin* advantage, when Baddley goaled from a melee in the Greymouth goalmouth. For Technical Ninimo. in goal, was in no small way responsible for the win. while Skeats ami Vaughan were the best of the remainder. An even, but rather scraggy game look place on the Technical ground between Maris’ and Tech A third grade teams, and no score resulted, largely due to the fine goal keeping of Lee (Technical) and Gough. Tin* fault on both sides was the failure of the iorwarls to shoot first time, they instead preferring to try and run Hie ball through the goal.
