Mac Ewen Beaten “OUT” ON HIS FEET. (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN. June 12. In the boutf between Bert Lowe and George Mac Ewan, Dunedin to-night witnessed one of the most willing bouts ever seen locally. A feature of the bout was the game showing by Mac Ewen. who was beaten badly in practically every round, and fought the final four almost out on his feet. In a ten round preliminary between Charlie Buckley Dunedin, and Dave Richardson Timlaru. Buckley won on a technical knock out in the 9th. round. Light-Heavy Championship KAY NICOL RETAINS TITLE. HASTINGS, June 12. In a good fast professional contest, for the New Zealand lighfheavy championship Ray Nicol 12st. 71bs., of Invercargill, retained his title at Hastings to-night, defeating Billy Sullivan 12st. 6Ubs., of Hastings on points. The champion shaded his 'opponent in the majority of the 15 rounds, Sul livan tiring badly from the tenth round onwards. Claim for £3OOO AGAINST AL. FOREMAN. (Received June 12 at 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 12. A suit to recover £3OOO damages for alleged breach of contract, brought by the All British Arena Syndicate against Al. Foreman, the British lightweight boxer, ended to-day, the jury returning a verdict in favour of the defendant.
