The weather report and forecast arc as follows:—General situation: An extensive anti-cyclone still covers, th'* Tasman Sea and New Zealand areas, but the centre lies oyer Southern Otago, which is unusually far south. Forecast: Winds south to east prevailing, strong in the far north and north-east; elsewhere light to fresh. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough north of Napier, with a heavy south-easterly swell; elsewhere smooth to moderate Eastern Tasman Sea: Alodcratu to strong, south-east to easterly ‘winds; seas rather rough in the. northern portion; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Weather: Cloudy in the eastern dis-, tricts and in the. far north, with scattered showers, especially between Cook Strait and the East Cape. Temperatures cool, with frost inland
