His Hon or at length outlined the features ol the cas*‘. Ho did not think the jui'A would have any difficulty in reachin* a decision as to whether there wa? a case to answer. The Grand Jury retired at 10.51) a.m ami returned at 11.25 am. with trui bills on all counts. Jam's Mclxiy Wright am! Arthui Lewis Schroder were charged (1) that at Caplc-ston, on May 21, by night the\ did wilfully damage the dwelling hous< of Joseph Nohra, by an explosion, Noh ra and throe other persons being ii the house at the time; (2) that, witl intent to intimidate or annoy Nohra they damaged his dwelling house by ar explosion; (3) that they attempted t< alarm Nohra. by the discharge of ex plosives adjacent to his dwelling house The accused, who were represented by Mr T. F. Brosnan. pleaded not guilty on all counts. Tho following common jury was empannelled:— Alexander Robert Me(’onnon, Charles Haglund. Samud Lane, Raymond Armstrong, John Mct'a’lum Ea iu. Sila's Charles Martin. William Ernest Larcombe. Norman Hodgkiss, Jami's Henry .Morgan, Frank -Kennedy. Siiclair Trotter. Albert McKane (Foreman). Four prospective jurors \ver< chab longed by th<i defence, two on behalf of Schroder -and two for Wright. Four orders to stand aside were issued by the prosecution. The case was outlined at considerable length by Mr Kitchingham. who then called evidence siniih.tr to that given in the Lower Court and published in the ” Argus’’ on Saturday last. All witnesses, with the exception of Sergeant Smyth, were ord* red out of Court on the application of Mr Brosnan. Evidence for the prosecution was given by Joseph Nohra, Clarence John Gerrish, Victor Charles Adams, Miss Mary Alice Blair, Robert Gugich, William Briscoe. Jabes O’Malley, Carlton Mac Kay Lipscombe, and Serjeant .1. Smyth. The Court adjourned at 5.15 p.m. until 10 o’clock this morning, when I the last witness for the Crown will! be heard.
