ECONOMIC CONFERENCE
KING TO OPEN Repudiation of Debt FAVOURED BY CABINET. (Aua. & N.Z, Cable Assn.) (Received June 7 at 10 p.in.) LONDON, Juno 7. Cabinet has been definitely summon ed for Friday. It is an open secret that the Treasury -opinion is that Britain cannot and should not pay hc> war debt to the United States of Am erica while receiving nothing from her debtors. It is recalled the fueling of Parliament, which A\as strong against the December pay ments. Mr Ramsay MacDonald and Mi Baldwin have been in frequent consul tation respecting this, and other affairs, notably the Economic Confer c-nue, for which preparations are pro gressing feverishly. M. Daladier will bo present at. the I opening of the Conference, but is not] expected t<» stay long. M. Boncour may be unable to be present, at the opening.
It. has been arranged that Hi« Majesty the King will arrive shortly before 3 o’clock. and depart after his speech. Mr Ramsay MacDonald will then give his Presidential address The accommodation for the general public in the Conference Hall is lim. ited to sixty or seventy seats. Three hundred workmen are stii* engaged preparing the building.
