Following a Congress of Nationalists at Natal, endorsing unanimously the Hertzog-Smuts agreement, the latter, speaking at Standerton, announced that a new National Cabinet would be sworn in on Friday. If the coalition were satisfactory, the parties could merge. EVEREST FLIGHT. CALCUTTA, March 29. The Mount Everest flight is still delayed by the force of the wind at high altitudes. The meteorologist reported to-day an 88 miles per hour wind at 34,000 feet, whereas the venture will only be possible when the wind has dropped to 45 miles per hour. FORD RAISES WAGES. ENGLISH STRIKE ENDS AMICABLY. LONDON, March 29. The Ford dispute has been settled. The management agreed to provide a minimum wage for all grades, involving an increase of from twopence to sixpence hourly, without victimisation.
