TEACHERS’ POSITIONS. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, March S. Ju the House of Representatives amendments to the Education Amendment Bill were introduced by Mr Forbes, One amendment permits Education. Through a misunderstanding it was proposed to empower school committees to suspend a teacher for neglect of duty, but ihe clause is to be amended to confine a school Committee’s authority for suspension f t o cases of immoral conduct or gross misbehaviour. Provision for compulsory enrolment in special classes of sububrnial children, has been modified to provide t<»v a special prior examination by the school medical officer. Mr, Forbes stated that, in easp bl transfers of teachers on account ot over-scale salaries, the removal expenses would’ be paid by the Department, and the teachers themselves would not be called upon to bear this
