Further reductions in the salaries of its staff, to operate from April 1, were agreed to by the Auckland Harbour Board. This is the third salary reduction by the Board since June, 1931. It was decided in the ease of salaries exceeding £250 a year and less than £450 a year that a reduction of 5 percent. be made, but that salaries should not be reduced below £250. Salaries in excess of £450 are to be reduced by 7} P c r cent., but such salaries arc not to be reduced below the higher wage of tho lower grade. The- reductions made iu June, 1931, were 10 pea* cent, on salaries of £250 or over and 5 per cent, on salaries under £250 A year later further cuts were authorised as follows:—3J per eent. off salaries from £lOl to £350 5 per cent, off salaries from £351 to £5OO, 7J per eWit. off salaries from £5Ol to £lOOO, 10 per cent, off salaries over £lOO9 N.Z. INCOMES. WELLINGTON, March 8.
