(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, March 9.

The weather forecast is as follows: General situation; The recent depression has passed away, and a moderate anti-cyclono ij now approaching the Dominion. There are indications, however. of the development of a cyclone to the north-west of Norfolk island. Forecast: Winds moderate to fresh, southerly to south-easterly, increasing in and north of Cook Strait. Seas (N.Z. waters) rather rough north of Farewell Spit and Akaroa; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate south to south-east winds, with moderate seas, but wind and sea rising in the northern portion. Weather mainly fair to cloudy, with cool temperatures, but some scattered showers in the eastern districts, and conditions becoming unsettled soon in the northeast and northern portions of the North Island.
