(Our Own Correspondent). Air W Tomlinson wa s remove 1 to Airs Paul’s private hospital at Reefton on Alonday evening seriously ill, where he is doing as well as can be expected. His many Waiuta friends wish him a spoedy recovery. Aliss Jean Cameron left for Christchurch on Tuesday morning, having been appointed the nursing staff of the Sunnyside Mental Hospital. Aliss Cameron will bo much missed in sporting circhs, having been an active menib< r of the “Frothblowers” Hockey Club, as well as a keen tennis enthusiast. Her many friends wish her success in her new surroundings. Among the successes obtained at the Takapuna Grammar School, in the recent Alatriculation and Medical Preliminary examinations, appears filename of Aliss Joan Stacpoole. Aliss Stacpoolo is a daughter of Air and Airs Stan Stacpoole, former well known resident of Waiuta. but now of Takapuna. Messrs J Barnes and T. lieward, who aru patients in the Greymouth Hospital are both making satisfactory progress. Air J. Cooper is undergoing medical treatment at Reefton. Dr L. J. Wicken (Reefton) was a visitor to the township during the week. Air E. J. Fitzgerald was a visitor to Grey mouth for the week-end. Air and Airs B. Dunshea, who were married last week, returned from Christchurch. Air E. Korridge, who has been visiting Wellington has returned Air L. W. Stevens, Director of the School of Alines, Reefton. was a visitor to the township on Tuesday. A large number of residents visited Ikamatua on Sunday for the League picnic, and all spent an enjoyable day’s outing. Owing to a shortage of transport a good many had to remain at home. Air “Taffy” Jones has been appointed to the staff of the Blackwater mines as shift-boss, vice Air W. Tomlinson, who has resigned owing to ill health.
