The barometers have risen, especially in th© south Forecast: Winds moderate to strong generally, south westerlies prevailing at first on t parts of the West Coast, but otherwise 1 north westerlies, freshening later. Seas (N.Z. • waters): Rather rough on the West Boast about Cook and Foveaux Straits, with heavy westerly swells; moderate on the East Coast. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong north-west to westerly winds, ami rather rough seas Weather: Fair to ' fine in the eastern districts; elsewhere J cloudy to overcast, with rain at times. ( Some heavy fall s are probable on the West Coast of the South Island, Temperatures warm east of the ranges: elsewhere moderate. - q
