(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, December 7. Miss Dunne, who arrived in Reef ton last evening, after a seven months’ trip to England, Ireland and Europe, resumed teaching at tho Black’s Point School this morning. \\ ord was received in Reefton to day tha t Mrs B< 11, wife of th e Rev. W . Bell, \ icar of St. Stephen’s Church, Reeft<»u, who underwent a serious operation at St. George’s Hospital, Christchurch, came through the ordeal w 11, and to-day was reported as much improved. Mr W. Harvey, who ha s been in ( hristchurch for some time past, owing to his eyesight being somewhat aff< eted, returned last evening. Messrs 11. L. Stevens Director of the Rc*efton School of Mines, and F. B. \\ ight, left to-day on a prospecting l**ur of the country between Alaruia and Murchison. They expect to be absent if or abou t ten days. Mr Stevens is thus essaying to put into practice what he advocated at his lecture at the School of Alines on Alonday evening, when he advocated that the country he is going to. offered the best opportunity ' for prospectors. I The friends of Air and Mrs p. H. Instouo. of Hawera, formerly of Reefton. will learn with regret of the death off thp latter’s mother, Mrs j Marsh, which occurred suddenly at W-llington last week. The deceased lady whon on a visit to Reef ton made many friends, who will learn of her death with extreme regret. Mr K. J Holyoake, the newly-elect-led Member for Motueka, will visit i Reefton on Friday, and will personally thank the electors for the conldence reposed in him. speaking from DawI son’s Hotel that evoning at 7.30 ' o’clock.
