Tim “Morning Post’s’’ Dublin cor respondent says: “As the s r quel to a speech made by Mr Cusgravc, in which he stated that bis Party intended to exercise their rights of free speech, despite the bullying and the intimidation of Mr De Valera’s Government, the Government is s r rious'y contemplating a supreme act of folly, namely, tho arrest of Mr Cosgrave under the Public Safety Act. Mr Sea Q O’Kelly presided at a Cabinet meeting, held to consider the speech in question, following which the “Irish Press,’’ Mr De Valera’s organ threatened Mr Cos grave with arrest if he< persisted in his opposition to the Government’s policy article, adding that Mr Cosg’ave could bo placed on trial before Military Tribunal.” The “Morning Post’s” correspondent adds: Replying to the Gov* rnment’s challenges, Mr Cosgrave said he defied th l Government to arrest him. adding that he will repeat the statements he made until the members of the Government have the courage to carry our their threats, courage being the only thing preventing them from taking action already.
