The weather report and forecast are as follows:—General situation; An anti cyclone of slight intensity’ still 'overs New Zealand, and a shallow depression covers the western Tasman a. lor cast: Winds variable at first; •ut light to moderate winds, north- ' asterly to northerly, soon prevailing and freshening gradually. Seas (N.Z. waters): Smooth to moderate. East ern Tasman Sea: Moderate but freshening northerly winds, and moderate >eas. Weather: Fair to fine and mild nt first, but haze and cloud increasing and later showers developing in tV lar north and in the western and southern districts of the South Island.
