The meeting decided that a system of the control of goods services by licensing be approved. The Council of the Alliance waited on the Acting-Minister of Transport, Mr Ransom, who assured the deputation that no action would be taken to apply the provisions of the Transport Licensing Act to goods services until the Alliance had a full opportunity to place its views before the Government. He promised that the Transport Department would extend every facility to co-operate in the problems with which the industry was farced.
