THE WEATHER
(Per Pres* Association). WELLINGTON, September 19. The, weather report and forecast are as follows:—General situation: The pressure is still high in the south from Tasmania to beyond New Zealand, while a moderate cyclone is centred north of Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds between south-east and north-east, generally moderate, but reaching gale force in the extreme north. Seas (N.Z. waters) rather rough on the east coast and in the Cook Strait area; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: East to north-east winds, strong in the northern portion; elsewhere, moderate; seas moderate to rough. Weather fair in the western and southern districts of the South Island; elsewhere cloudy, with showers or misty rain in places, more especially in the eastern and far northern districts. Temperatures cool in the south, and moderate in the north.
