The barometers are high t.o the south, while to the northward a shallow continues to pass. Forecast; Winds between south.east and north-east, mainly to moderate, but freshening at times in exposed posi tions. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rather rough in places north of Kaikoura and about. Cook Strait; otherwise, smooth to- moderate. Easter n Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh south-east to northeast winds, and moderate to rather rough seas. Weather fine in the western districts, and the far south; elsewhere, still cloudy to overcast, with misty rain in places, but improving. Temperatures moderate.
