A conference of Australian nje?* dustry interests is discussing a campaign of organisation along the lines followed by New Zealand, covering grading, advertising, publicity and the creation of a meat export control board, with powers to regulate shipments, and to strike a levy not exceeding two pence per carcase. The Federal Minister of Commerce. Mr Hawker, stressed the serious plight of the meat industry, as the retwit of the fall in overseas prices. It was .most desirable to he well organised and ready to respond to any results accruing from the Ottawa Conference
