14 TIMES GREATER THAN IN 1914 (British Official Wireless.) (Received June 10 at 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, June 9. By 301 votes to 71, the House ol Commons last night, on the report stage of the Finance Bill, rejected an amendment for the reduction of the beer duty, which, it was represented, is now fifteen times as high as it was in 1914. The Chancellor of tho Exchequer (Mr Chamberlain) pointed out that revenue of ten million pounds would be involved in the proposed reduction.
