In the belief that it was impossible for there to be more survivors, the artillery shelled to demolish the dangerous tottering walls in the landslide area. They were surprised' later by a cat’s frantic scratching. They dug at the spot, and found the cat’s owner unconscious. She was an eightold girl, beneath a bed, where she had been imprisoned for three days. She died on the way to the hospital.
