ROTARY CONFERENCE. DUNEDIN, May IL “Unless Rotary principles,—and there may be wide difference between membership and principles, —are practised by the nations to solve international problems, it is my opinion that the bloodiest and most terrible cou'fliet of the ages has still to be fought,’’ declared the District Governor, Mr H. J. Guthrie (Dunedin) in his address at the opening of the tenth annual conference of New Zen-j land Rotary Clubs this morning. About] a hundred delegates from all parts oi| the Dominion were present. A welcome was extended to the visitors by Mr P. R. Sargood (Dunedin President) Sir Alex Roberts replying. The District Governor concluded an eloquent address on Rotary ideals, b? stating that with friendship planted where violence and distrust grew be fore, the brotherhood of man, would approach reality, and the task passed on to posterity would be the easier accomplished.
