(b) Holdings from two acres upwards, so located that the holder will be at different tames of the year nble to procure some work on surrounding farms and in the district generally, such holdings being chosen without special consideration as t* whether more land is available for ' subsequent development. ' Mr Coates said; “The object is o i give men with families an opportunity lof -becoming owners of small areas in developed districts, provided wi h !roads and social amenities and schools. Each holding will be equipped with a small cottage of the Public Works type. The holding will, wherever po Isible, be a portion of an existing I farm, and the co-operation of the present owner will be sought in providing the seeds and stock required—one •or more cows, pigs and poultry—and |in the loan of implements. Finaneia - arrangements in connection with the holding, whether it be its purchase or lease, would be completed between the iGovernment and the present oWnet before the section-holder was placed.
