The Cemetery at Inangahua Junction hag just been cleaned up, and is now in excellent condition, in addition, a new wire fence has been erected with a cyclone wire gate. The wo k has been completed by the County workmen, who have made a most creditable job of it. It is hoped that, with such an excellent ap'pearance. the cemetery now presents, the Inangahua Junction residents will rise to the occasion, and with that public spirit that is so prevalent among gnlall communities, combine and do their best to keep the ground that holdg the remains of many they hold dear, in as good a condition as possible. Mr W. D, Murray, Greymouth, gav e an address on “Horticulture” at the Council Chambers last evening. There was not a very large attendance. The speaker dealt with the growing of flowers and vegetables, pointing out the advantages of suitable manur ( es and methods the different flowers required. He contended the Inangahua soil would, and did grow flowery equal to anything in the Dominion, while the vegetables produced could not be beaten. He pointed out several methods that would be sat’sfactory to growth in Reefton, also mentioning that the dropping of blooms on growing sweet peas was due to over-manuring. The Chairman, Mr B. Auld? thanked Mr Murray for his interesting address, and proposed a vote of thanks to that gentleman which was carried by acclamation. During the last week or two, business people seem ito have awakened in some degree to the necessity of advertising, though in a limited degree. This is by means of window painting, which has been done very artistically. Now, how .ever, the youth of the town are taking a hand in it, and each night soes ojie or more of these painted windows multilated or partly destroyed. Wanton mischief and destruction like this mqst be put a stop' to, bu‘t this will not be a fact until some of theste mischievous youths are made an example of.
