INTEREST PAID Lyons’ Allegation (Aus. &, N.Z. Cable Assn). LONDON, May 2. The Commonwealth paid £655,086 inierest and banks’ commission due on May Ist, on N ? cw South Wales 5$ per cents, and 6 per cents.
N-S.W. TRUST MONEYS. SYDNEY, May 3. Mr Lyons, in a message to the Teachers’ Federation and the Public Service Association of New South Wales, states:—“No State funds will come into possession of the Com? monwealth Government. On April 11th the banks held only £85.000 for the New South Wales Government, which had previously withdrawn a million pounds in cash. Mr Lyons says that xhe money included in the withdrawals must be the amounts du ‘ to the tru t funds.
TAXATION DATA. SYDNEY, May 3. Other taxat on documents will ba made available to the Commonwealth to-day. The notice served on Mr MeMahon, requiring the production of all assessment notices does not expire until May 12:h. It is understood that the State Government will not refuse to hand over - these'documents.
