Aliss Mabel Kilpatrick, of the staff of Cashmere Hills Sanatorium, is on a visit to her parents at Boddytown. Messrs G. Graham and L. Davies, who attended the Nelson and Marlborough Racing Clubs’ meetings, returned to Greymouth, via Christchurch last even, ing. Aliss N. Scott arrived by last evening’s (Christchurch r-xpress after .Tn extended tour of England, and is th.: guest of her sister, Miss F. Scott, Turnmuha Street. Mrs R. MeTaggart, who recently underwent an operat on at the Grey River Hospital, is reported to be mak ing good progress.
Air Malcolm Fraser, Government Statistician, has been appointed Under Secretary of Internal Affairs, in sin cession to Mr P. J. Kelleher..
Mrs MacPhcr-’on, wife'of Mr J T; Macl’herson M.P. for Oamaru, arrived yesterday on a visit to her daughter Mrs J. B. Forbes, Higa Street.

The funeral of the late Mrs Gertrude Steele, of Runanga, took place at the Karoro Cemetery yesterday morning. Requiem Mass was celebrated a t'tho Church of the Sacred Heart, Runanga by Rev. Father Holohan, who also conducted the service at the graveside.

Air J. Ramsay AtaeDonald, who returned to London front Geneva on Sunday, was subjected to a thorough examination by Sir Thontas Herder, and his oculist, Mr Duke Elder. A further consultation will ba held as to the best course in the treatment of the right eye. A third opinion may b e invited.
The death occurred on Sunday, at Westport of Air Peter Roselli, sour. Deceased, who was a native of Switzerland, arrived in this country 54 years ago. nt the age of thirty, and sii’co that time he has been engaged in farm, ing on the West Coast. He was a member of the Hokitika Lodge E.C., and had been a member of the Craft for (iO years. His wife predeceased him some years ago and he is survived by two sons,’Peter and Charles, and one daughter, Mrs O. Stowell.
