OTAGO GENERAL LABOURERS

APPRECIATE LABOUR'S WORK IN HOUSE. Mr R. Harrison, secretary of the Otago and Southland General Labourers-’ Union, has forwarded the following letter to Mr H. E. Holland, Leader of the Opposition: “The Members of the above Union wish to convey to you as Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, and to all other members of the Party our deepest appreciation of the wonderful fight you have put. up during the present session of Parliament. The slumbering toilers have not yet been sufficiently aroused to give you sufficient strength to overthrow our enemies, but from those of us who have received sufficient light to pierce the gloom which seems to surround our social and economic life, we wish to convey our deep appreciation of the manner in which you have so far carried on the fight. May you long continue to do so, and at the end of the journey may we all with one accord be able to say, you have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, and there is obtained for the toilers, to a large extent through your efforts, a higher standard of life than they have ever known. So to every member of the Party, convey this message from the Otago General labourers’ Union, that you may continue to I fight on, neither asking nor giving any' quarter, until the fight is won. ’ ’
