Dr. Kidson’s weather report and forecast are as follows:—General situation: The anti-cyclone has departed eastwards, while the tropical cyclone referred to yesterday has moveu south-eastwafds, llnd to-day has been centred to the east of Norfolk Is land. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong, north-easterly to easterly ol gale force north of Kawhia, and the East Cape with a general change* to strong southerlies likely within the. next “16 to 24 hours. Seas (N.Z. wat ers): Rough north of the East Cape; elsewhere moderate but rising general ly. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong southerly winds of gale force in the northern portion and seas rough. Weather: Unsettled, cloudy and misty with fairly general rain, and heavy falls in the northern and eastern districts of The North Island. Temperatures are becoming colder.
