A sub-amendment to the Budge: 1 was moved in the Canadian House of Commons by Mr Rober* Gardiner, United Farmer member for Alberta, calling for the nationalisation of Gan ada’s financial system for the stabilisation of the dollar at the point of which the major portion of the deb 1 s of the Dominion wore incurred during ♦he war, and thereafter for a managed credit and currency to maintain a stable price level in Canada. Th? amendment was defeated by 17 votes to 17*
