ANNUAL MEETING

WEST COAST BEEKEEPERS. The annual general meeting of the West Coast Branch of the National Beekeepers’ Association was held on Saturday evening, thoqe present being: —Messrs Smithers (chairman), R. Keown, A. C. Weaver. J. C. B. Coulson, R. Clarke, T. G. Kitchingham (Treasurer) T. Hornsby, Shannahan, Giasson, M ss M. Gibson (Secretary), and Mr G. F. Pago (Apiary Instructor). The balance-sheet for the past year was laid before the meeting by Mr Kitchingham who explained that the small deficit was due to subser'ptions not coming in as prompt as should be the care. The balance-sheet was then adopted. The President’s rep'ott was also read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —P.esidcnt, Mr Smithers; Secretary, Miss M. G bson; Auditor. Mr A. Weaver; Treasurer, Mr T. G. Kitchipg ham; Executive Committee, Messrs J. C. B. Coulson, A. E. Weaver, R. Keown. T. Hornsby and R. Clarke. In re-electing the President and Treasurer, mention was made of tho excellent work done by these gentlemen, and appreciation was expressed by all. Mr Pago briefly reviewed the yeat’s work at the conclusion of which a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the speaker and carried by acclamation.
