FINANCIAL CRISIS
In Danube States LEAGUE PROPOSALS TO MEET IT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received April 1 at 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY., March 31. A meeting of representatives of four of the great Powers, to make a preliminary survey of (he Danubiun States’ problem. a nd to lay down guid. ing principles for tho assistance of the Conference of Danubian States will bo held at London next week. Owing to the gravity of the financial situation in Austria, Hungary and Greece, a meeting of the League of Nations’ Council has been summoned for April 12th. This step is being taken following on a report from the Financial Committee of the League which recently met at Paris. Geneva messages state thaj. the report of the Committee advances proposals for ameliorating the situation which demands the prompt attention of the League Council.
