MR BAVIN RESIGNS. LABOUR PARTY CONFERENCE. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn., SYDNEY, March 30. Mr Thomas Bavin has resigned the leadership of the Opposition (United Australia) Party in the New South Wales Assembly. The State Labour Party Conference has concluded. Motions carried at the final sitting provided for the equivalent of socialisation of the meat industry, by giving the Meat Board complete control of all operations at. Homebush, with power to establish centralised abattoirs throughout the State. A sensation was caused by the allegation of a delegate, that only the refusal of the Governor to sign the document had prevented the leasing of the Homebush abattoirs to private enterprise. N.S.W. INTEREST PAID TO U.S.A. NEW YORK, March 29. Interest on Now South Wales bond due April 1, was received from tho Commonwealth Government to-day, and transferred to the fiscal agents by tho Australian office.
