(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March Hi. The weather report and forecast are as follows:—'General situation: An anti-cyclone covering New Zealand was centred to-day east of the North Island, while a depression which was located over south-eastern Australia moved on to the Tasman sea. Forecast: Winds northerly, light to moderate generally, but freshening in and south jor Cook Strait. Seas (N.Z. waters;: | Rising south of Capo, Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, else whore smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Freshening northerly winds and rising seas. Weather: Fair to cloudy, and -warm in most districts but showers are developing soon in the western and far southern portions of the South Island. Later the conditions are becoming more generally unser.t led.
