Air Forbes said that representations nre being made to the New Zealand trading banks concerning :.t reducton in. their charges for exchange services following upon the recent fall in the Bank of England rate. Mr Polson asked if it were the Intention of tho banks to reduce their charges in view of the fall in the bank cate at home. He pointed out that the Australian banks had reduced their charges by 2/6 per cent, but that, no action in this direction had been made m the Dominion. Afr Forbes said that, as the result, of representations made to the local banks, they had the question under consideration.
