COURT NEWS

CHARGE OF ARSON. (Per Press Association). THAMES, February 17. A charge of arson was levied against an Austrian, Joseph Ivankovich, alias Joe Ivan, farmer, of Pipiroa, Hauraki Plains, this morning. The police describing the case as a serious one, requested substantial bail, which was granted, totalling £6OO. The circumstances refer to the total destruction of a home at Pipiroa on the evening of December 29th. Bail was not forthcoming.
